On Sunday, September 26, 2010, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department along with Oldham County EMS responded to the 2900 block of East KY 146 on a report of an injury accident involving a motor vehicle overturned.

While en route, responding units were informed that the incident involved a forklift on private property and not a motor vehicle on the road. Upon arrival, Car 4508 confirmed a forklift incident with one person injured.

Engine 4535 arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and prior to EMS provided first aid to the female victim. Engine 4534 arrived on the scene and was instructed to set up a landing zone as requested by EMS personnel.

According to a witness on the scene, the forklift overturned while rounding a corner therefore trapping the female victim underneath. Prior to calling for emergency assistance, the only other person on the scene used another forklift to lift the forklift off the female victim. The witness, also advised that the female victim was a passenger on the forklift and not the driver.

One female patient was flown to University Hospital in Louisville.
