National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, April 10-16, 2016

ABOUT NPSTW
Every year during the second week of April, telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are honored. This week-long event, initially set up in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in California, is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. It is a week that should be set aside so everyone can be made aware of their hard work and dedication.

ABOUT OLDHAM COUNTY DISPATCH
Oldham County Dispatch is a centralized dispatch center that consolidates communications and 911 for all emergency services in Oldham County - the Oldham County Police, LaGrange Police, Pewee Valley Police, Oldham County Sheriff, Oldham County Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and all Oldham County Fire Departments. Oldham County Dispatch (OCD) is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In an emergency, contact Oldham County Dispatch by dialing 911. Dispatchers must quickly but thoroughly obtain all pertinent information from the caller and then dispatch the appropriate first responders.

Dispatchers are responsible for obtaining, documenting, disseminating and tracking the activities and information for all police, fire and EMS departments in Oldham County.
