July 18, 2019

Recently, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department along with Oldham County EMS responded to I-71 southbound on a report of an injury accident involving a military vehicle.

Upon arrival, fire personnel reported a military vehicle off the roadway with all occupants already out of the vehicle.

According to military personnel on scene, the driver of the vehicle started feeling ill and attempted to pull off the roadway into the emergency lane. Apparently in the process of pulling of the roadway the driver blacked out and ran off the roadway where the vehicle struck several tress before coming to rest.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to University Hospital in Louisville by Oldham County EMS with what appeared to be minor injuries. The lone passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

Units: Car 4502, Car 4504, Car 4506, Engine 4534, Engine 4535, Utility 4591
